Abstract
We have measured magnetic fields evoked by auditory stimuli of monosyllable speech sounds. A current dipole source of the magnetic field has been localized as the neural source responding to each stimulus within the auditory cortex in two hemispheres. The results indicate an interhemispheric difference in the location of these dipole sources. The location of the left hemisphere source is equal or mostly posterior to that of the right hemisphere source, the extent of which varies largely among subjects.
