In this paper a Terahertz imaging technique in transmission mode based on the photothermal conversion of Terahertz to thermal radiation is discussed. The theoretical background of the Terahertz to Thermal Converter and detailed experimental aspects of the imaging technique is discussed. The feasibility of this technique to evaluate dielectric materials is presented. The paper demonstrated the ability of Terahertz to Thermal Converter based transmission imaging technique for applications like, non-destructive evaluation, security, medical etc.
