Abstract
The magnetization and loss characteristics of the silicon steel sheet (20WTG1500) are experimentally measured using the Epstein frame method, based on which simulation study of the loss characteristics is carried out. First, the measured loss data at different frequencies are fitted based on the classical Steinmetz model. When working, a trust-region algorithm incorporating a reflective mechanism is used to precisely solve the unknown parameter values within the classical Steinmetz loss model. Aiming at the problems of the classical Steinmetz model, a kind of variable parameter, closely related to the frequency, is reconstructed by the parameter values in the classical loss model. Then, the improved Steinmetz loss model with the variable parameter is investigated. The improved Steinmetz model is applied to various working conditions, and its effectiveness is verified by comparing the simulation results of the improved model with the measured data.
