Abstract
This article discusses the significance of the work of cultural theorist Mark Fisher for the project of foundational culture. To do this, it first engages in an exegesis of Fisher’s writing in terms of its ‘hauntological’ dimension. Following that, it looks at the two very different recent empirical instantiations of hauntology: the Corbyn moment in British politics and the cultural developments in Berlin after the Fall of the Berlin Wall.
