Abstract
• There are alternative models of community children's nursing (CCN)
• A number of suitable criteria have been identified for evaluating CCN
• Which criteria are given most weight depends crucially on the perspective of different stakeholders and the power that they hold
• A framework for evaluating CCN is developed
