Review : Equal opportunities,welfare and child health: a review

Abstract

■ Many families from ethnic minority backgrounds are disadvantaged

■ These families have poorer access to health care provision

■ Social factors such as poor housing are detrimental to both child health and child safety

■ Nurses from minority groups remain under represented within the NHS
