■ Children with thermal injuries are cared for in many settings within the health service
■ To promote excellence of care, knowledge of their extensive and holistic needs are required
■ A multi-disciplinary team approach is vital to ensure adequate and effective care is given during throughout the child's recovery
■ Family-centred partnerships in care are essential ingredients in caring for the thermally injured child
