R. RIBEIRO provides a preliminary report based on his study of limited samples of males belonging to six Afro-Brazilian cult groups in Recife. He emphasizes the fact that sexual maladjustments listed as homosexuality and problems of sexual inadequacy were detected in 57 percent of the sixty subjects interviewed. F. KATZ and M. DOBKIN DE RIOS analyze the therapeutic functions of whistling which seems to be an adjunct to hallucinogenic healing in the Peruvian Amazon.
