Abstract
The Third International Workshop on Salvage Therapy for HIV Infection took place in Chicago, Illinois, during April 12-14, 2000. This Workshop annually gathers 200 of the world's foremost HIV/AIDS clinicians and research scientists to discuss the management of treatment-experienced patients. This year the Workshop was used as a forum to catalyse the development of research into meaningful therapies for heavily treated individuals. This report reviews key data that were presented with regard to the current and future management of treatment-experienced patients.
