Abstract
This paper reports the couple stresses squeeze film lubrication of circular stepped plates with pressure-dependent viscosity (PDV). The modified Reynolds equation accounting for the viscosity variation of couplestress fluid is mathematically derived. From the results, it has been found that the non-dimensional pressure, non-dimensional load-carrying capacity, and the non-dimensional squeeze film time increases as compared with iso-viscous lubricant case. Further, the present results are in good agreement with the earlier works in the limiting conditions of iso-viscous lubricant case.
