Abstract
Influenced by a recent and increasing body of critical management research, we outline how we have put some of these ideas into practice. Thus in this paper we identify an innovative approach to management education at the level of content and delivery. We trace our involvement in the management education units at the University of Humberside in which we have attempted to reflect the social and political processes of managerial life. Our work is situated in a critically orientated context and makes particular use of novels to exemplify the complexity and ambiguity of organizational life. Several forms of writing are incorporated in this paper, mirroring our own working processes. We begin with an autographical stance in our introductions, followed by a description of our pedagogy and use of novels; a dialogue summarizes our dilemmas and uncertainties.
