This paper builds on Julia Davies' and Robin Snell's research into disillusionment to provide a tentative framework for considering the relationship between energy, disillusionment and motivation. The author suggests some practical exercises and processes which can be used to test out the assumptions made in the framework. The author is currently using these and similar exercises in his personal development consultancy work and he would welcome feedback on this article.
