Victor Newman set up the Task-Oriented Group, Problem-Solving Project (TOGPSP) as an Outdoor Management Development (OMD) research project at the University of Bath in 1984. The project involves a study and development of specific techniques to enhance systematic problem-solving and task-presenting skills. Central to this work are the use of developmental microtasks and the skills-profiling of full-scale microtasks.
