The paper considers the analysis of a learning diary, and the feelings and ideas that it highlights about being on the receiving end of evaluation. It is significant that much of what is recorded under such circumstances is highly selective. The subsequent discussion explores the implications of this, and also the more general influence of the evaluation on structures, systems and relationships.
