Abstract
Today's managers should be well acquainted with world events, for the operation of the enterprise can no longer be understood in isolation from them. Post-experience management development programmes can provide excellent opportunities for the exposure of managers to the inter national environment. Syndicate work, action-based projects, expert opin ion and case studies can be effective ways for managers to increase both their general knowledge and their sensitivity to such major world issues as population, food, energy, international finance, technology, the multi national firm, religion and ideology. Diversity of culture and background amongst managers on an international management education programme is a prerequisite for the development of international insights and helps them to focus on the central human values underlying the operation of business and government.
