Abstract
Background:
Informed patient decision making and consent before medical treatment is a medicolegal requirement that may be beneficial to patients and physicians. Certain medications such as cyclosporine (Neoral®) have important potential risks that patients need to understand before they begin treatment.
Objective:
Documentation of an informed decision-making and consent process for use of the drug cyclosporine in dermatology patients is promoted and encouraged.
Methods:
A sample information sheet and consent form to be used by patients and physicians before and during use of the drug cyclosporine are provided.
