Abstract
Among patients on peritoneal dialysis (PD), the presence of granulomas is often associated with progressive catheter exit site breakdown, which can reduce and affect quality of life and health. However, care for exit site granulomas remains unestablished, and promotion of wound healing of granulomas remains a challenge and urgent problem. Although the potential of silver ion-containing dressings have been suggested, evidence on its efficacy for exit site granulomas remains limited. Here, we presented five patients on PD who exhibited significant resolution of granulation tissue after application of silver ion-containing dressings. These clinical observations highlighted the potential effectiveness of silver ion-containing dressings in the management of exit site granulation tissue in patients on PD.
