Intra-articular pressure, measured in the hip joints of seven patients treated by nailing for subcapital femoral neck fracture, was increased after closed reduction and nailing of the fracture. The difference between pre- and postoperative pressure was significant (p=0.016). In five of the patients pressure after surgery was more than 20% higher than before surgery.
