Abstract
The Authors report on 10 years of experience with cementless PM-HipArthroplasty in primary procedures, 1500 prostheses of this type having been implanted during the past decade. Our report is limited to the prosthesis design and operative technique as well as to the indications for implanting a cementless hip arthroplasty. The major problem of cementless hiparthroplasty is located in the shaft and causes of possible failures are presented and discussed. In patients with clinical symptoms characteristic radiological changes are almost always present. It is clear that particularly in cementless hip arthroplasty, the precise operative technique is of paramount importance.
