Continued access to first virtual ISFM International Feline Congress
The 2020 ISFM International Feline resulted in Congress was the first virtual event of this scale to be held by the ISFM. One of the huge benefits of this congress was that, due to it being virtual, it was available to a far wider international audience than the usual in-person events, and this resulted in an unprecedented number of veterinary professionals getting involved. The congress was also well received; of the attendees who provided feedback, 97% put themselves at a 7 or higher on a scale of 10 to recommend the conference to colleagues.
Because of the accessible nature and high quality of the content, demand for access has not diminished. The ISFM has therefore made all of the congress content available until 7 August, 2021. ISFM members can access the content for free, while non-members can purchase, for £89 + VAT, standalone, on-demand access to the content.
Call for abstracts
Research abstracts of relevance to feline clinical practice are invited for the virtual 2021 ISFM World Feline Congress, which will take place from 25–27 June.
Abstracts should present novel information (or highly unusual case material) that has not been previously published, although abstracts that have been presented at a previous conference will be considered. All submitted abstracts will be reviewed, and those accepted will go forward to be presented as a PDF poster in the virtual poster booth. Presenters will also have the opportunity to provide a 10-minute presentation about their poster, or take part in a recorded Q&A session with a member of the ISFM team, to appear online as part of the congress. The presenter will be entitled to a complimentary place at the virtual congress. Accepted abstracts will be published in JFMS.
Leading a pioneering movement for unowned cats
iCatCare, the parent charity of ISFM, has launched a new programme ‘Cat Friendly Solutions for Unowned Cats’ (CFS4UC) to support those working with unowned cats. On 5 December 2020, Vicky Halls, head of CFS4UC, held an event introducing the initiative, which offers:
Free, high quality advice and information on all aspects of working with unowned cats.
A free, certified introductory course to help people learn more about CFS4UC.
The opportunity to join a worldwide community of people working with unowned cats in all capacities where members can share knowledge, work collaboratively and tell their story through a bimonthly newsletter.
