Abstract
This paper is concerned with estimation of the thermal resistance and thermal capacity from in situ thermal measurements of a homogeneous slab. A so- called state-space model in these two parameters is derived from the heat conduction equation. The model is formulated in a way suitable for estimation using standard computer software for building mathematical models using performance data.
The state-space model is successfully applied to: (i) data from in situ thermal mea surements of a 800 mm loose fill insulation, and (ii) CEN-data that have recently become available for performance testing of identification methods.
