The Polytechnic of Stuttgart was commissioned to investigate the ef fect of external wall construction and colour on heat transfer in natural climatic con ditions. Heat losses were measured over a long period of time in an experimental house made of different types of brick walls and lightweight walls. Measurements were supplemented by computer calculations.
