Abstract
Insulating materials are certified in France since 1985. That means that the actual performance of each material can be known by the user and not just a contractual performance for a given family of insulating materials.
This paper presents the certified characteristics of building trade thermal insula tion, manufactured products and the three types of certificate. It is more focused on the certified thermal resistance, R. It gives the measurement methodology.
It is more specifically focused on the certification of the R value of PUR foams.
The main repercussions of the certification are given.
