Abstract
This is the concluding element of a multi-year program to develop and demonstrate a technique for using aerial infrared thermography for quantitatively assessing heat loss from building roofs. The technique has been reported on earlier. In the current work, aerial and ground surveys were carried out for a set of 90 homes. In both cases, heat losses were calculated and buildings were divided into five categories from very high to very low heat loss. Comparison between the two sets showed building by building agreement 99 percent of the time. The project also included development of a technique for dissemination of quantitative information to homeowners. This technique is discussed.
