Abstract
Thermal Insulation is playing an important role in conserving energy and reducing energy cost. The efficiency of thermal insulation in preventing heat loss or gain is influenced by its economic thickness - and also on many other factors - like the "condensation problem". The moisture migration in Thermal Insulation can degrade its thermal resistance. The condensation problem and the use of VAPOR BARRIERS as a preventive meas ure is discussed. Types, standards, commercial availability, design considerations, and practical applications of VAPOR BARRIERS in Thermal Insulation are presented.
