The concern for formaldehyde off-gassing or release from various products has been a major concern of govern mental agencies in recent years. The Commonwealth of Massa chusetts has held public hearings and declared formalde hyde a hazardous substance. The Consumer Product Safety Com mission has also held public hearings but has not released the results of their findings, to date.
