Abstract
An appropriately-trained labour force is recognized as a major factor affecting the success of the Canadian hospitality & tourism industry. This paper examines the status quo through research obtained from a sample of seniors and faculty from 17 technical colleges offering two-year diploma programs, as well as from graduates and management working in the industry, in an attempt to determine if the level, quality, and content of instruction are sufficient to meet the standards necessary for enhanced personal and professional development.
