This paper discusses the relationship between convention and visitors bureaus
and university tourism research centers in the development of accurate and reliable
visitor information for targeting and attracting potential market segments. The study
was conducted for the Greater Columbia, S.C. Convention and Visitors Bureau to
assist with their marketing and advertising efforts.
