Abstract
In an attempt to examine the varied roles of hospitality management educators, both faculty and administrators were surveyed. Faculty reported their teaching strategies and techniques. A "satisfaction/frustration" measure was included to examine attitudes regarding responsibilities faculty members are expected to fulfill and the support of institutions to help faculty meet their demands. Administrators reported on methods used to evaluate faculty and the relative importance of fulfillment of faculty activities as teachers, researchers and in service to the profession, university and industry.
