Abstract
The hospitality industry has been concerned with the lack of qualified manage ment prospects among minorities. This study of 20 of the best-known four-year hospitality programs was made to determine to what extent these programs are providing such minorities. Findings showed the proportion of minority enrollment in hospitality was low unless the program was housed in an institution with large concentrations of minorities, particularly the case in the Asian and Hispanic student categories. The number of minority hospitality graduates was low at all institutions, almost without exception. Both enrollment and graduation proportions were low for Blacks and American Indians.
