Abstract

Dear International Journal of Toxicology Readers:
Happy 2021!
Hopefully many of you participated in the 2020 American College of Toxicology (ACT) virtual annual meeting. I personally felt that some of the best scientific content ever was presented at our most recent annual meeting. I’ve encouraged a number of session chairs and co-chairs to please consider writing an overview article covering the content of their symposium or continuing education course. This is a great way to get the carefully curated content of your session into the hands of as many people as possible, especially for those individuals who did not participate in the ACT 2020 annual meeting. I also want to bring to your attention that the abstracts of posters presented at the ACT annual meeting are included in this issue. One of the unexpected benefits of the virtual annual meeting format was that the posters were available for the duration of the meeting, allowing meeting participants to view the posters and communicate with the presenters outside of the narrow time window that we often have at an in-person annual meeting.
I would like to encourage our valued readers to participate in the nomination process for the next award for the Best Paper published in International Journal of Toxicology. All papers published in the print issues of the journal in 2020 are eligible for the award that will be presented at the 2021 ACT annual meeting. The process is simple. Nominations can be as simple as an email to me (

Finally, I want to welcome two new International Journal of Toxicology Editorial Board members. I also want to acknowledge the service of four departing members of the Editorial Board: Dr. Palma Ann Marone, Dr. Barbara Mounho-Zamora, Dennis Naas, and Dr. Viny Srinivasan. Thank you to all of you!
Please be safe and stay in touch. I am always happy to receive your suggestions and input.
