Abstract

Dear International Journal of Toxicology Readers:
Fall is upon us, and hopefully many of you are finalizing plans to attend the American College of Toxicology (ACT) annual meeting in November in West Palm Beach, Florida.
I would like to bring to your attention some special features that SAGE has been developing that promote International Journal of Toxicology (IJT). One is the series of Collections that can be found near the bottom of the IJT home page. Currently, we have one collection that features nanomaterials-related papers and another that features most-read articles in the journal in the last 6 months. Please have a look, and if you have a recommendation for another collection that we should start, please let me know.
SAGE also featured a publication from IJT in a recent “microsite” on climate change, specifically the 2017 paper by Akiko Honda and collaborators that reported the effects of PM2.5 components on the respiratory and immune systems. 1 These authors also have a previous publication in our journal on the topic of air pollution-related metals and the viability and inflammatory responses of human airway epithelial cells. 2 Congratulations to Dr Honda and collaborators for the recognition of their work! To see more publications on environmental effects, health effects, and mitigation of climate change, please access the microsite and see all that is available there: http://journals.sagepub.com/climatechange.
Not getting updates from SAGE for featured articles from other journals or special features such as the recent microsite? Perhaps you “opted out” of receiving these communications when you set up your account. To undo this action, all that you need to do is login to your SAGE Journals account, go to the IJT homepage, and click the Email Alerts sign up button. This will sign you up for IJT content alerts. You can repeat this same action for any SAGE journals from which you are interested in receiving content alerts. You are able to change the frequency to daily, weekly, or monthly, as well as your preferred e-mail format (plain text or HTML).
In order to receive updates from SAGE like the recent microsite, be sure to opt in to communication via your IJT ScholarOne SAGE Track account. Login to the IJT manuscript submission web site. Once logged in, roll over your username in the upper right corner. Click on the dropdown, which will give you 3 options (Email/Name, Address, and User ID & Password). Select User ID & Password. Scroll down to the keywords section and just below the boxes, you will see a note about opting in or out of SAGE communications. The text reads “Please opt in for emails so that we can keep you up-to-date with publishing opportunities in this and other SAGE journals and other news from SAGE. You can unsubscribe at any time.” Select opt in. With your keywords up-to-date and opting in for e-mail communications, you will receive targeted messages that are relevant to you and your subject area.
I am looking forward to seeing many of you at the ACT annual meeting. I’ll be walking through the posters for the entire time that they are up to try to identify posters that might make great papers for publication in IJT. If you would like to discuss publication of your poster, or an overview of your annual meeting session, please send me an e-mail, or track me down at the meeting.
