Abstract

Dear Readers,
This issue’s big news is an increase in the International Journal of Toxicology impact factor! We rose from 1.233 to 1.29 and had a total of 1170 citations in 2014. In terms of citation activity, our most cited article was Shayne Gad and his collaborators’ article “Evaluation of the Toxicity of Intravenous Delivery of Auroshell Particles (Gold-Silica Nanoshells),” published in 2012, volume 31(6). Congratulations to Shayne et al, and thanks to all of our authors, associate editors, and reviewers for their help in improving the image and effectiveness of our journal.
The response to our recent call for articles in the area of nanotoxicology is great so far! The first issue of 2016 will include our Annual Meeting poster abstracts and a collection of high-quality and diverse articles in the area of nanotoxicology. So if this is your area of study, and you have a stack of data that really should be written and submitted, I encourage you to do that writing now and submit to International Journal of Toxicology for publication in early 2016. I believe that these articles will be highly cited, which will benefit the journal; you, too, can benefit as an author. Time is short, though, as I need these articles to be submitted by September 1 for publication in the January-February 2016 issue.
In this issue, you will find 4 session overview articles based on talks presented at the 2014 American College of Toxicology Annual Meeting. If you did not attend these sessions, I hope that you’ll have a look and learn what you missed! We have contacted all session chairs and cochairs for the 2015 Annual Meeting and asked them to work with their speakers to make next year’s issue with session overview articles even more reflective of the outstanding content of our annual meetings. So if you’re a speaker at our upcoming Annual Meeting, make the most of your slide preparation time and start drafting a summary of your presentation!
Thank you for your ongoing support. Please contact me with ideas to improve the journal or if you’d like to get involved as a reviewer (or author!). I’m looking forward to our 2015 Annual Meeting and hope to see many of you there.
Enjoy the rest of the summer!
