Abstract

Dear IJT Readers:
It’s that time again! Whether you are reading this issue of International Journal of Toxicology online, or whether, after catching your breath upon seeing this Issue’s beautiful cover photo, you’re perusing the hard copy, it is time to start thinking about nominations for the 2010 American College of Toxicology (ACT) President’s Award for Best Paper Published in the International Journal of Toxicology. Papers published in Issues 5 and 6 of 2009 are eligible for consideration, as are all manuscripts published in Issues 1 though 4 of 2010. After you have carefully pondered this point, please complete a review form http://www.actox.org/journal/BestPaper.aspx and email the completed form to me (Marybeth.genter@uc.edu). Your comments will be carefully evaluated and considered by the Publications Committee (Dr. Mary Ellen Cosenza, Dr. Shayne Gad, Dr. David Hobson, Dr. Elaine Knight, Dr. Robert Snyder, and Ms. Tracey Zoetis). The authors of the winning paper will be presented a plaque, courtesy of the American College of Toxicology, and check, courtesy of our publisher, SAGE, at the Monday Awards Luncheon at the ACT Annual Meeting in Baltimore.
Speaking of the Annual Meeting, I must draw your attention to this year’s exceptional program. Dr. Russette Lyons and the members of the Program Committee, together with Dr. Nancy Holmes and the Education Committee, have assembled a simply exceptional Annual Meeting program. Due to the increasing popularity of the Hot Topics sessions over the past few years, the Hot Topics session will be the ONLY session on Wednesday afternoon at this year’s Annual Meeting—thus simplifying the choice of where to be during that time slot! If you have not already done so, please see the Annual Meeting links on the ACT website http://www.actox.org/ and make every effort to attend.
I continue to be excited and energized by my position as Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Toxicology. As of June 1, we have had well over 100 manuscript submissions during the calendar year 2010. I must sincerely thank my hard-working and enthusiastic Associate Editors and Editorial Board, as well as the dozens of ad hoc reviewers who give their time to ensure a high quality publication. I hope to see many of you at the ACT Annual Meeting, and whether at the meeting, or at your convenience, please contact me with issues, concerns, or suggestions.
Sincerely,
