This study sought to assess the performance of university undergraduates (n = 150) on the Spatial Kinesthetic Awareness Test (SKAT) using a pretest and posttest format. All subjects were enrolled in jazz or modern dance classes at the beginning or intermediate level. Analysis of student performance was done from videotapes. Students showed a significant improvement (p < 0.05) in overall performance on the SKAT in four of the nine classes tested.
