Abstract

Artemis CCD
FS92 Low light cooled CCD
camera
According to Artemis, the FS92’s combination of high resolution (9.19 million effective pixels in a Type 1 3388 × 2712–pixel array) and high sensitivity significantly increases application options. As with all members of the FS range of cameras, a typical read noise of 5 electrons makes the FS92 an option for low light applications, including fluorescence and chemiluminescence imaging, and with the asymmetric pixel binning function, a highly effective detector in optical spectroscopy.
As with previous Artemis CCD cameras, the FS92 is fully compatible with all software downloads available at www.artemisccd.com. This includes a comprehensive software development kit (SDK) together with LabVIEW drivers and a plug-in for the open-source image editor, ImageJ. The FS92 is Peltier cooled to a delta of −25 °C below ambient and is available with either a monochrome or color sensor. By specifying the alternative rectangular body design for particularly demanding applications, an additional −10 °C cooling performance may be achieved.

BioFlux Quattro High-Throughput Array System
The Quattro Array system for physiologically relevant live-cell analysis is now available as a separate component that can expand the capabilities of any existing BioFlux 200 or BioFlux 1000/1000z system. The Quattro Array runs up to four BioFlux plates at the same time. Plates can be read by a microscope or high-content screening system as a time-point or end-point assay. The increased throughput is considered valuable for lead optimization applications where the ability to closely simulate in vivo conditions is critical to identifying the best candidates for clinical development.

EVOS FL Auto Imaging System
The EVOS FL Auto Imaging System is a fully integrated platform capable of meeting a broad range of research applications, from image tiling and multiposition well scanning to automated cell counting. When combined with the incubator system, which controls environmental temperature, oxygen, and humidity directly on the instrument stage, the cell imaging system enables longer live-cell culture monitoring sessions and time-lapse imaging. The system is designed for novice and experienced users alike with minimal upfront training requirements. The system’s EVOS LED light cubes reduce operational costs, eliminating the need to replace burned-out arc lamps.

Virtuoso 5.4 Image Management and Workflow Software
New features introduced in Virtuoso 5.4 software include an enhanced image viewing experience, an optimized Laboratory Information System (LIS) integration module, more flexibility in deployment options, and an improved accessioning module. These new features are designed to enable users to more efficiently integrate digital pathology into the laboratory workflow. The Virtuoso image and workflow management software is a web-based application that orchestrates a laboratory’s workflow around a patient’s digital slide, from the moment the slide is scanned to when the slide image is viewed and analyzed on a computer, and the results are documented in a formal report. Integrated with the VENTANA iScan HT2 and iScan Coreo slide scanners and the VANTAGE workflow solution, Virtuoso software is an enterprise solution for managing digital slides and is fully integrated into the anatomic pathology laboratory’s workflow.
