Abstract
A number of years ago, educators at Molloy College were looking for a way to educate students about poverty that not only would provide theoretical information about the economic and social issues but would also help students develop personal insight into the experience of living in poverty. The result was the Homelessness Immersion Project, a year-long program that brought together community service efforts, coursework in different disciplines, and opportunities for personal reflection.
