Abstract
On the morning of November 18, 1999, twelve young people lost their lives and twenty-seven were injured when the tower of logs that students were working on for Bonfire collapsed. How did Texas A&M respond to this tragedy? How are they coping? What did they learn? John Wesley Lowery, assistant professor of educational leadership and policies at the University of South Carolina, talks to former Bonfire adviser and associate vice president for student affairs at Texas A&M University Bill Kibler about these questions and more.
