Two hermeneutical exemplars are presented of men who died in their homes. While the families enjoyed the experience of having their loved one at home, the experiences had cultural differences from each other. One man died in the United States utilizing the services of a professional hospice agency. The other man died in the Philippines with the assistance of his family. In addition to the cultural contrasts between these two exemplars, the primary purpose is the portrayal of the creativity of one nurse in producing a very positive experience with dying at home.
