Abstract
Home care nursing delivery is expanding at an astounding rate. Faculty of schools of nursing and home care educators are examining methods to better prepare both the experienced nurse and the new graduate nurse to practice in the home care setting. This article summarizes a qualitative interpretive study that analyzes and articulates the characteristics of home care nursing practice. The results of this research provide faculty and staff development providers with valuable insights into how expert home care practice develops and how it can best be nurtured in our rapidly growing health care environment.
