Abstract
Clinical nurse specialists (CNSs) in the home setting are working to meet the needs of patients who are being discharged sooner and sicker and often require highly skilled nursing care. Seven CNSs working in the home care setting were informally surveyed to determine their perceptions regarding the practice of the CNS role in the home setting. Their responses and ideas concerning the potential for the future development of the role in the home setting are discussed.
