Abstract
This article presents a review of both theoretical and empirical literature regarding the use of remi niscence therapy as a health-promoting strategy. A conceptual framework is then developed that describes the phenomenon that recollection is an expansion of consciousness. The article con cludes with a discussion of how individual reminiscence therapy can be used in the home care setting to promote health in the elderly.
