Prematurity is a major cause of morbidity and mortality in newborns. This article de scribes the use ofterbutaline via continuous subcutaneous infusion in the home setting to prevent premature birth. This treatment gives more control to the patient and fosters self- monitoring. The home health care nurse teaches and monitors on a regular basis and is the support necessary for effective and successful therapy.
