Abstract
Thanks to today's technology, more spinal cord injury victims survive and are faced with the need to significantly adjust their attitudes and approaches to life. They are the "cap tains" of the team and must be encouraged to control their own destiny. This article provides significant information for clinicians to assist them in this process. Included is information on the home, transportation, wheelchairs, and, most importantly, the need to encourage the client to explore and succeed in the "real world."
