Abstract
We in home care often deal with difficult patient-family situations. They are most difficult, however, in the hospice setting. How do we allow the patient and family to have choices and not impose an unrealistic standard upon them? This moving case study describes one team's efforts toward that end. The efforts of the care providers— professional and family—reflect the empowerment theory discussed in the previous article.
