Abstract
This is one in a series of End of Life experiences shared by families of loved ones. It is a personal reflection by a nurse concerning the diagnosis and care of her mother. It focuses on the aspects of looking at the patient as an individual and providing a full range of services for patients regardless of age. The role and importance of family caregiving and hospice care philosophy are emphasized, as well as the importance of taking time for those we care about and love.
