Abstract
Home health care has undergone the most significant change since the enactment of Medicare in 1965 with the implementation of the prospective payment system of reimbursement. This change has demanded that home health care reinvent itself with increased emphasis on quality and values and ethics in leadership. Credentialing is one way that organizations can demonstrate their commitment to quality leadership to the community and specifically to the consumer. This article will provide an overview of the credentialing opportunities available for the organization, home care clinicians, and administrators, executives, and managers.
