Abstract
Outcome-Based Quality Improvement will give home care agencies an opportunity to demonstrate that they provide quality care to their patients and that services received in the home can and do affect patient outcomes. This information will also facilitate the identification of clinical practice behaviors that should be reinforced or investigated and changed to enhance the quality of care received by home care patients. The collection of Outcome and Assessment Information Set data and their accuracy take on new meaning, significance, and importance as this initiative takes root.
