Abstract
The Accreditation Commission for Home Care (ACHC) was established in 1986 and predominately focused on accreditation of home care organizations within the state of North Carolina. This span of focus was expanded in 1996. During the intervening years, increased approval and interest in ACHC's standards and survey process has occurred. This article provides an overview of the commission and its standards.
