We study a system of vertical and horizontal drains periodically distributed with small width. The permeability of the soil is much smaller than that of the draining material. By homogenization and perturbation techniques, we study the influence of the period, the height of the tunnels, and the ratio between the soil permeability and material drainage. We establish very different limit behaviors depending on their relative order.
